Milking Parlour Handling Area and Tanker injector

The proposed project involves the installation of a new milking parlour within a new 135'x52' building and adjoining dairy to enable herd expansion from 140 to 200 cows. The proposed parlour would be a 40 point rotary parlour with feeding facilities, auto identification, milk meters, milk conductivity analysis, segregation gate, activity meters and cattle handling facilities (£365,814).

A heat recovery unit (£3,200) would be installed to provide hot water, together with a plate cooler. Solar panels installed on the dairy roof would provide hot cleaning circulation water (£5,936.17).

A new slurry tanker and trailing shoe (£29,560) would be purchased allowing better use of slurry and reducing ammonia emissions and odour for nearby villagers.
