The project is for circa £7 million capital investment in the next stage expansion of the Maelor Slaughtering and Processing facility. The Company have been granted a licence to slaughter 1 million birds per week from its current licence of 400,000 birds per week.
The capital investment will be in plant and machinery including additional slaughtering equipment, a new gas pit, and chillers. The investment is required to meet UK demand for red tractor chicken and to ensure the Company is able to slaughter 1 million birds per week.
