This project is to improve economics of working steep woodlands and forests.
The purpose of a traction winch will allow steep slopes to be worked mechanically. A purpose built timber harvester will enable mechanical thinning of young crops on steep ground and an excavator to undertake the necessary ground preparation when planting re-stocking steep sites. A new seeding machine will be purchased to increase productivity in SLT's tree nursery and increase the number of trees grown.
