Menter Moch Cymru (MMC) is offering pig producers a unique opportunity to be part of a sector-leading event, and gain valuable insight into the global marketplace and the latest technological innovations.

During the 3-day MMC Study Tour, producers will have unrivalled access to cutting-edge sector advances, first-hand international expert analysis, and an exclusive ‘live streamed’ farm tour of a specialist genetics nucleus herd unit.

The MMC Study Tour is particularly suited to producers from medium to large commercial units, and centres on the industry’s biggest conference - Pigs Tomorrow.

At a time of continued uncertainty around the UK’s exporting future, producers will hear timely opinion and advice from pig industry expert speakers from across the world.

A host of speakers will take to the stage at the 2-day ‘Pigs Tomorrow’ international outlook and innovation conference including Canadian farmer and founder of Peak Swine Genetics Inc, Jurgen Preugschas; Russian and EU pig sector expert Jack Keane; and AHDB chief strategy officer Tom Hind. www.pigstomorrow.com

For MMC producers there will be the bonus of an extra day’s information and exclusive activity tailored to their interests.

Arranged by MMC the day begins with a talk by John Millard. An award-winning pig breeder for 60 years, he is at the forefront of pig genetics and herd health, advising UK and international breeders.

The MMC study tour concludes with an exclusive insight into the new technologies and efficiencies being achieved at a pioneering large pig unit.

Bridge House Farm (BHF) keep 400 purebred Duroc and 250 purebred Yorkshire sows and is a nucleus unit for Canadian genetics company, Genesus.

The farm’s strict biosecurity protocols prohibit visitors; therefore, MMC has arranged for producers to ‘tour’ the farm via an interactive video-link.

Delivered by Charlie Thompson – a qualified vet and member of the family who operates BHF - the tour will view the innovative technologies and precision livestock farming (PLF) methods being employed at the unit.

The cost, which is highly subsidised by Menter Moch Cymru, is £150 per person. This includes the 2 day conference package (International Outlook and Innovation Conference), gala dinner, day 3 speakers programme and 2 nights’ accommodation.
