The ninth round of Glastir Woodland Creation and the eighth round of Glastir Woodland Restoration opens today, 16 March, with a fourfold increase in budget for Glastir Woodland Creation of £8m and a doubling of the budget for GWR of £2m.
There have been a number of changes to the application process for Glastir Woodland Creation, where expressions of interest must be submitted by a Registered Glastir Woodlands Planner.
Expressions of interest selected to progress in the application process will be offered a contract on the condition payment will only be made once a woodland creation plan verified by Natural Resources Wales is approved by the Welsh Government. Successful applicants will also be required to select one of two claim years – 2021/2022 or 2022/2023.
The Glastir Woodland Creation expression of interest has been extended to 31 July and closes at midnight and the Glastir Woodland Restoration expression of interest closes at midnight on 24 April.
