Menter Môn are pleased to announce the 1st exhibition for the From Me to You project featuring and commemorating John Cave and his very special collection of Holyhead and Anglesey historical artefacts, papers and people is currently on show at the Ucheldre Centre, Holyhead until February the 2nd 2020
The Launch took place on Saturday 11th and over 120 people attended, there were speeches from Alan Williams, Holyhead Mayor, Richard Burnell, Jackie Lewis of Menter Môn and Susan Prince, John’s daughter who opened the exhibition. Entertainment was provided by the Brodyr Magee and a short film was also premiered.
This exhibition was managed by Menter Môn and Dylan Parry Evans (Dyluniad) working with the John Cave Legacy group and Dr Marian Gwyn and received funding from the Welsh Government’s Rural Communities - Rural Development Programme 2014 – 2020, which is funded by the Welsh Government and European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development with a contribution from the Anglesey Charitable Fund.”
Jackie Lewis from Menter Môn stated - Over the last 18 months, time has been spent looking at ways to capture and share the wealth of memorabilia collected by so many, so that others can display their collections in the future. The From Me to You Brand is intended to be one way of ensuring that our past is remembered and displayed, and we are very pleased that the John Cave collection is the 1st of many for the From Me to You project.
