Event overview
Workshop attendees will learn about the stages of calf rearing from birth to weaning with a view to improve calf health and productivity.
There will be a focus on the economics of rearing bull calves with respect to the new GB Dairy Calf Strategy 2020-23. The importance of colostrum, calf nutrition, hygiene and management systems will be discussed to demonstrate efficient calf rearing and growth practices. All aspects of the workshop will embed messages about health planning, biosecurity and responsible antibiotic use.
