Helen Phillips

In a varied career spanning over 30 years, I have been responsible for all aspects of manufacturing operations including Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Process Improvement, Business Systems, and Quality, Environmental, and Health & Safety Systems.  I have worked in industries ranging from process plants to low volume, high variety make-to-order businesses.  Many of the projects I have been involved with have crossed departmental boundaries, and as a result, I have a good understanding of how businesses work as a whole, from enquiry to invoice.

My natural leadership style is to work alongside people and coach them, and I derive a great deal of satisfaction from seeing people develop and achieve their full potential.  To effect long-lasting change, “buy-in” from the team is essential - I am able to develop a rapport with people quickly, and am comfortable working with people at all levels of the business.

I am educated to Masters Degree level in Manufacturing Systems Engineering, and apply the principles of “Lean Thinking” to improving both business and manufacturing processes.  My strength is my ability to understand how your business works as a whole, and to provide solutions which cross functional boundaries.   I believe that having the right measures in place is important, and enjoy working with senior managers to implement a structured approach to managing the business.
