Scolton Manor is a Victorian country house and Victorian park compete with walled garden located near Haverford West, Pembrokeshire.

What are the projects aims?

To improve facilities at Scolton Manor and encourage more visitors including coach parties to this must-see site in Mid/North Pembrokeshire.

How were these aims achieved?

A new adventure playground including a 30-metre zip-wire, a spinning climbing web, and ‘super swings’ has been created to encourage parents of older children. There is already a wooden playground already on site for the younger ones.

A large coach turning area with designated coach parking has been created along with additional event parking.

The tea room has been enhanced, with help from the Welsh Government Integrated Care Fund, to include a second hand bookshop which sells off used library books. The tea room menu now includes some original recipes from the cookbook of Eddie Higgon who was the matriarch of the manor during Victorian times.

What’s next for your project?

Scolton Manor are improving facilities to host civil ceremonies and weddings.  They are also looking at other funding streams to continue to improve and enhance this special site in Pembrokeshire.  The site is also making its own delicious ice-cream.
