After finding the general information that is available, the main method of research will be questionnaires, focus groups, one to one sessions, promotional films including 40 questions that will be distributed to about 300 residents of different ages and sexes in the community. The questionnaire will be arranged by Manchester researchers (Dr Karel Williams and Julie Froud) in collaboration with Dr Lowri Wynn (Aberystwyth University) as a local specialist and Cwmni Bro Ffestiniog will arrange the distribution and collection of the questionnaires.
The researches will then collate the conclusions together so as to form an economic and community action plan.
The research will provide a strong Foundation for planning and implementing plans that will be of real benefit to the community and on the basis of that community's strengths.
The project will find out how a common ‘place’ works and what is actually important to the residents of Bro Ffestiniog. Many of these matters have revealed themselves since the Green Town began on the new scheme in the Summer of 2019 and this research will expand on them, as well as helping the community, agencies and authorities to prioritise the most important matters for finding possible solutions when implementing plans for the future.
