Bo Peep

Tracking the location and wellbeing of livestock minimises animal losses, protects against theft and reduces the time and fuel used in searching for lost and stricken animals. This project trials a livestock tracking app, exploring whether it is fit for purpose within the Cwm a Mynydd area and investigates its economic viability as a new digital tool for local farms. Older versions of tagging are common practice, but the microchips used are not suitable for GPS. Battery life and chip injection will be considered alongside software development, combining and testing these elements in a new way.
