The project involves piloting a new approach to community led youth provision by working with 7 rural communities in the Vale of Glamorgan. The project will involve training local volunteers to develop ‘open access’ youth work sessions for young people aged between 10 and 18 years.
The first youth club has now been set up in St Athan based at the Community Center in Glyndwr Avenue for young people aged 10-14.
The club meets every Tuesday from 4pm to 6pm and are currently looking for volunteers to support the general running of the club or to share a skill or facilitate a workshop.
BGC are hoping to work with seven rural communities by the end of the project.
