Bridgend Welsh Place Names Pocket Book

The project proposal came in from Menter Bro Ogwr and Cwmni Dai working together on the idea of exploring the historic meaning of Welsh place names in Bridgend County Borough. As it was under 5k and they demonstrated previous experience in preparing such a resource, they were able to provide a value for money quotation and were commissioned to deliver their proposal. The project worked across the rural county borough holding workshops with children, young people and adults to develop a reference book on the history and heritage of Bridgend through its place names. Some follow-on work is proposed around mapping and digitising the information in even more engaging and interactive ways in the future for which additional funding will be sought from a range of sources.
