With a change in the way the Steam Railway operates there was an opportunity identified which could benefit the town of Llanfair Caereinion. Previously only a small number of people started their journey in Llanfair. Now with a change in the railway timetable and ticketing there will be some 25,000 visitors or more starting their journey and ending it in Llanfair Caereinion.
Llanfair Caereinion and its surrounding communities will benefit though the following:
- The shops and businesses gaining more trade through footfall making them more sustainable into the future.
- Local residents through a more attractive centre.
- Local residents though retaining their local retail outlets long term.
- Visitors to the community from the steam railway who can then enjoy a local Welsh experience.
- Promotion of the Welsh Language through bi-lingual maps, booklets and website.
