Farm Options Study

To conduct a study into the potential future uses of a Monmouthshire county farm.  The tenancy of the farm lapses, without a renewal requirement in early 2022.  The study will assess all options including those set out below:

  1. Sell the farm as a going concern and secure the capital derived from the sale
  2. Let the farm in the same method that has been adopted for many years, and let the new tenant decide on how they wish to operate the farm
  3. Let the farm with conditions that enable the delivery of policies such as
    • Declaration of a climate emergency
    • Zero carbon ambitions
    • Green Infrastructure policy etc.,
    • Let the farm to multiple tenants as commercial or semi-commercial growers, demonstrating Foundational and Circular Economy, low carbon farming principles.
