This project is a feasibility study to research and assess the opportunities for collaborative working within the micro/SME food manufacturing businesses in Carmarthenshire, it will examine the concept of ‘food clusters’ and develop this by combining wider elements required to ensure success
The project will develop the concept of ‘SMART’ manufacturing through research and modelling and will provide a template for sustainable development of the food industry in Carmarthenshire
A dedicated resource and project team will:
- Scope the project
- Engage with local food producers
- Determine the local appetite for collaborative working
- Research the scale of the opportunity
- Review market failures
- Provide suggested models for collaborative working and future works
