This project follows up on the CAOs Covid-19 grant. This was a new role that Cadwyn Clwyd initially funded for 3 months to allow the centre to respond quickly to the covid-19 pandemic, setting up a meals on wheels service and recruiting teams of volunteers to deliver meals on wheels, complete welfare checks to the vulnerable and support them to with access supplies, prescriptions, and shopping. Due to the success of the initial project this project will continue and extend the services. New needs from the vulnerable elderly community have been identified. These include befriending, escorting people to medical appointments, collecting prescriptions and shopping and walking dogs. To recruit volunteers for these roles, the Volunteer Coordinator is imperative to ensure the volunteers are given the correct guidance to carry out their roles, are supported and activities between the person and volunteers are coordinator effectively.
