TELIMÔN

The project aims to create an on-line TV channel, TeilMon which will be bi-lingual and focus on the sense of place agenda linked to people and communities at all levels and providing training and opportunities for young people who are out of work or in in-work poverty to improve their skills and employability and older people who which to diversify into other fields of employment.

This pilot is acting upon research that had been completed in 2009 which explored the concept of creating a channel which would be broadcast on TV.  However, due to the steering group at that time not having the time to commit and possible problems with licences the project was terminated.  LEADER, due to its very nature is the ideal vehicle to take TeliMon forward and now has a volunteer steering group of people who can commit the time required to ensure the pilot succeeds and initial licencing problems will no longer be an issue because TeliMon will be on-line only and there are no restrictions (apart from inappropriate content being uploaded).  

Some films will be factual and commissioned works will need to fulfil the needs of the client.  However, it is intended for TeliMôn to become a truly on-line TV channel and will generate contend which will reflect those aspirations for a wide variety of audiences. 

The above are only ideas but will link into the ‘sense of place’ agenda and the active promotion of LEADER activity on Anglesey.
