A team of consultants, Just Solutions, have been brought in to undertake a far-reaching feasibility study on the town’s popular leisure facility to help determine a future for Cardigan Swimming Pool and Fitness Centre.
The team will spend the next three months reviewing the evidence of needs, opportunities and examining options for the pool, all of which is needed to inform the business case, design and operational model for any future facility.
The pool, which is nearing the end of its natural life, needs major investment. Built in the 1970s it is showing its age, with trustees battling to cover the cost of constant repairs.
The consultant team will be looking at possible locations and whether it could be developed as a wellbeing hub or visitor attraction. The completed feasibility study shall then be used to support future grant funding applications.
