A project to pilot a range of wellbeing activities in the rural Vale as well as a wraparound service providing digital and employability skills. A research study will run alongside to find out participants views on health and wellbeing.
Newydd Housing Association in partnership with Public Health Wales and Vale University Health Board received funding to pilot a range of well being activities in the rural Vale. The activities included a holistic girls only fun fitness sessions, buggy fit, Fitbit Challenge with students at Llantwit Major Secondary School and Get Cooking Classes with parents and children as well as a wrap around service providing digital and employability skills. The pilot is targeting the communities of St Athan, Llanmaes and Llantwit Major where they have housing stock.
