The Academy of Tomorrow pilot project by Ceredigion College will pilot workshops in a number of priority sector areas for young people. The aim is to develop innovation and creativity, promoting entrepreneurship, and cultivating confidence and resilience.
The intention is to deliver two sets of workshops (Food Sector – Catering workshop, Performing Arts Sector – Performance workshop, Art Sector – Art workshop and Film or Graphics Sector – Media workshop) over a period of 8 weeks across 3 sector areas. The first set of workshops will be aimed at a cohort of school learners aged 14-16 with no specific career pathway in mind. The second set of workshops will be aimed at a cohort of learners aged 16+ who are dis-engaged from learning and employment.
In addition to the practical workshops the project proposes to bring the learners from each workshop together for short presentations, in the form of ‘Ted Talks’ from established or ‘budding’ Entrepreneurs as well as a presentation from Careers Wales on resources available to assist in making informed career choices.
