Ally Merchant

My background is HR and strategic people leadership with key experience working with Startups and scaling businesses to design and implement their people processes. My career started with Marks and Spencer before I moved to HR Business Partnering in Centrica. Most recently, I’ve worked with businesses across various sectors, including Finance, Media, Charity and Space with my most recent role being Head of People at Space Forge, an advanced technology startup operating globally with headquarters in Cardiff. 

I’m naturally curious about business and leadership and am able to work quickly to understand how different businesses and teams work. I listen more than I talk as I believe that we are all able to learn something from others. I’ve been a mentor to CEOs and Founders through my business roles and have also supported leaders in Education in my role as Chair of Governors at Llangan Primary School. 

With my experience and positive approach to learning, I believe I can help you to view your business from different angles and gain new perspectives. Aswell as being your cheerleader and providing support during difficult times, I will also be a critical friend and help you identify blind spots when it comes to your business strategy, thinking and, most importantly, your people.
