Crimewatch Alarms Ltd and CW Electrical

A family run business, Crimewatch Alarms Ltd and CW Electrical based in Newport has placed training and development at the top of its agenda since it was formed.

Founder and managing director Harry Meese recognised the shortage of quality, skilled engineers in the electrical contracting industry and knew in order to produce a high quality workforce it would have to be developed organically within the business.

The company has grown its internal training capacities after entering framework agreements and opened a training suite with apprentices in mind.

Its framework provides an NVQ Level 3 apprenticeship. The company works with its training provider Coleg QS to provide the best possible training for its apprentices. The company has also provided training to apprentices employed by other contractors and clients.

“Without the continued support of our training service provider we would not have a continued stream of excellent individuals coming into our company framework. In the last few years, we estimate that year-on-year at least five per cent of the company’s turnover has been channeled into the training and development of our highly, multi-skilled workforce, making us quite a unique entity in our field of work,” - Rachel Meese-Kendall, a director at the company.
