Give your business a creative boost with apprenticeships
Real SFX
The creative industries sector in Wales is booming. The people at Real SFX understand that creativity is not the only key to their future success. Apprenticeships are too.
Apprenticeships make businesses more productive and more competitive by creating opportunities for young people.
Apprentices have the ambition, talent and commitment to help your business reach new levels of sustainable success.
Notable clients for this eight-strong BAFTA Award-winning special effects company, include Doctor Who, Sherlock, Coronation Street and Casualty.
With safety around live special effects paramount, Real SFX has worked with provider Cyfle to develop a very specific Apprenticeship Programme in Creative and Digital Media.
This has seen four apprentices recruited over the past three years with more in the pipeline.
“There is no recognised academic qualification in practical special effects, therefore our Apprenticeship Programme provides the ideal platform to work and learn simultaneously,” said Carmela Hargreaves, Company Director.
In a business where there are strict codes of practice, the early focus is on learning about the equipment used, how to maintain it and observing correct use before developing the hands-on skills.
“The Apprenticeship Programme is embedded into the Real SFX business plan and with the opening of Pinewood Studios Wales and the continued Welsh Government support for the sector, there is huge potential for apprentices to grow with us.”
