Bwyd o’r Tir- Growing for the Future 2025
Dig into Diversification and Cultivate New Opportunities in Horticulture!
Farming Connect’s new Agrisgôp programme aimed at enthusiastic young farmers in Wales, is an opportunity to look at the exciting diversification options that cultivating fresh produce can offer, and to gain the knowledge to make it a successful venture.
‘Bwyd o’r Tir’- Growing for the Future offers young farmers over the age of 16 the chance to explore profitable vegetable production through study visits to farms, showcasing different crops and business models.
Get ready to be inspired by leading growers from across Wales and beyond!
The programme includes two overnight study visits to a diverse array of horticultural businesses, spanning large-scale field operations, successful soft fruit enterprises, and innovative specialist crop producers. These visits will also include industry experts sharing crucial business and financial advice to help cultivate your own successful horticulture venture.
With group sessions to share ideas, discuss lessons learnt, and explore the practicalities of diversification for participants, it will be a good opportunity to meet new people and develop friendships.
With support from the programme, the group will also contribute to the creation of a YFC horticulture competition for 2026.
Contributors to ‘Bwyd o’r Tir’ include YFC, Castell Howell, Puffin Produce, Food Skills, and a range of Welsh and National farmers and growers.
The sign-up window will remain open until 5pm on 27 June, 2025.
