Recapturing Talent Fellowships

Recapturing talent fellowship applicants should meet the eligibility criteria set out below:
applicants should have a good first degree in a science, technology, engineering mathematics or medicine (STEMM) subject
it is also desirable for candidates to have 3 – 5 years post-doctoral experience and publications
applicants will have had a career break, or have taken time out of academic research, for approximately 2 years [Applicants with more or less time out of research than specified in this eligibility criterion may be considered on a case by case basis.]
This fellowship is also open to researchers looking to return to academic research following some time spent outside of an academic environment, such as in a commercial research organisation or pursuing an alternative career such as teaching or administration..

applicants must submit a completed application.

applicants must have the support of their chosen host institution
Applications that do not meet the eligibility criteria or do not adhere to the guidelines given here will be rejected by the management team.
Applicants will need to propose a suitable project to be carried out in a Welsh host institution. Projects should be described in no more than 12 pages and the appropriate application form.
The research project will be created by the applicant but they must discuss this with their potential supervisor before submission.
All projects will be subject to ethical scrutiny and applicants will need to provide a completed ethical issues section within their application.
Applicants should also submit a copy of their most recent CV, no more than 3 pages in length. This should include information about their education, previous employment and other relevant experience, information about any career breaks taken for maternity or caring responsibilities and a list of all their publications and grants awarded (if any).
Applicants should also provide in a covering email the names of 2 referees who know their work and the proposed area of research.
Host institutions should provide a breakdown of the costs using the tables within the application form.
Applications will be limited to 12 pages plus a 3 page CV’, font size 11 in Times New Roman or Arial with margin sizes of no less than 2cm (left, right and bottom) and 1 cm at the top. References should be listed at the end of the document and will count towards the page limit.
