Ports and Shipping

Wales has a number of ports along its coastline, with the main locations based along the south and north Wales coast.

The Port of Milford Haven in Pembrokeshire is the third largest port in the UK and a strategic energy hub.

Further along the South Wales coast, Swansea, Port Talbot, Cardiff and Newport are home to Associated British Ports facilities handling general cargo and aggregates.

In North Wales, Holyhead and Mostyn are home to passenger and freight services, with Mostyn being an essential supply chain link for the Airbus wing production facility in North East Wales.

Welsh Government recognises the importance of Wales’s port infrastructure to support wealth creation and economic growth within its Programme for Government.
