Diving into a new era

One year ago, we completed the asset transfer of Connah's Quay Swimming Pool from Flintshire County Council and haven't looked back since.

  • We have extended the pool's offering with new disabled and high performance swimming programmes and are on track to become the flagship 'learn to swim' organisation in the area.
  • 27 new jobs created after the takeover

  • 64 water-based sports being delivered

  • To provide a pathway for young people to build a career in the leisure industry

"Cambrian Aquatics are extremely grateful for the support received from Social Business Wales as they advised us on the structure of our business and guided us through the community asset transfer process. The support has continued over the life of our business and we have had HR, environmental and business modelling support to help create a sustainable social enterprise".
