Practical hands on sustainability training

  • over 200 beneficiaries per year across the project
  • upskilling 500 people a year from disadvantaged backgrounds

Down to Earth has been delivering training and development programmes for 10 years and is fast gaining a reputation as an example of best practice for working with people living in challenging circumstances via nature, sustainable construction and the outdoors. It is currently working on the construction of a second site in the Gower to support its expansion. Down to Earth plans to develop a new programme for commercial organisations in Wales by offering training, conferencing and unique experiential learning.

“The Wales Co-operative Centre has been invaluable for providing consultancy/legal support when we’ve needed it – both at short notice and for strategic development.  Without their support, we would have struggled with one of our major grant applications which resulted in a positive result”

Mark McKenna, Co-founder/Director, Down to Earth Project

Diversification involves looking for new opportunities outside of current products and existing customers.  It is inherently more difficult than the ‘more of the same’ option because it involves developing and delivering products or services outside of the existing ‘comfort zone’.
