Helping communities make a Flying Start

Since 2014, the Fern Partnership has grown from strength to strength and achieved beyond its aims of opening two fee paying crèche facilities in areas affected by social deprivation

  • £85,000 of funding secured to support community-led initiatives
  • 7 jobs were created last year with the support of Social Business Wales
  • Passionate about partnership building
  • Aim? To provide families with quality and affordable childcare

“Social Business Wales made the journey of expansion and development of The Fern Partnership a journey of success and positivity!  The professional yet friendly relationship offered by our Business Development Officers has been second to none and we are fortunate for their continued support.  Eleanor Roosevelt suggested that you ‘Do one thing every day that scares you." We as a team do something most days that scare us, however collectively and with Social Business Wales support the daily scares have become less!  With drive, passion and determination to succeed Social Business Wales have been invaluable during our journey and we thank them wholeheartedly".

Diversification involves looking for new opportunities outside of the current products and existing customers. It is inherently more difficult because it involves developing and delivering products or services outside of the existing 'comfort zone'.
