Theatr Soar

Enriching lives in Merthyr through the arts

Following the unprecedented success of its chapel renovation project, Canolfan Soar became a company limited by guarantee and reopened in 2011 with its flagship Theatr Soar. The centre’s main income comes from theatre and dance group bookings, music lessons and community groups interested in exploring the Welsh language and local culture.

“Wales Co-operative Centre has helped us with the financial side of things and assisted us with restructuring the organisation for growth. We must thank them and all our investors in making this transformation project possible and ensuring this fabulous resource will be available to the people of Merthyr for many years to come.”
