Opportunities to attend Travel Trade exhibitions and workshops 2022 – 2023

Visit Wales is currently planning the Travel Trade Business to Business (B2B) event programme for the 2022- 2023 financial year. There will be a combination of exhibitions and workshops.

We are negotiating final details including space(s) and costs with the event organisers.  

To participate you must be interested and able to contract, sell through the Travel Trade and offer commission/net rates. Any accommodation providers must be graded either with Visit Wales or AA. Activity providers need to go through the VW Accreditation Scheme where required.

These events are especially suitable for the following: 

  • Hotels / accommodation 
  • Attractions
  • Sightseeing / activity operators
  • DMOs & local authorities
  • Golf clubs

Proposed events include:

International Golf Travel Market (IGTM), Rome: 17-20 October 2022
This is the premier event for the golf travel industry. Over 500 golf tourism suppliers join 350 pre-qualified buyers and 50+ international press for four days of pre-scheduled appointments, networking opportunities and industry updates. 

World Travel Market (WTM) London:  7-9 November 2022
Staged each year at ExCeL, WTM is the leading global event for the travel industry. It is a vibrant business-to-business event presenting a diverse range of destinations and industry sectors to UK and International travel professionals. More than 51,000 senior travel industry professionals, government ministers and international press visit to network, negotiate and discover the latest industry opinion and trends at WTM. WTM generates more than £2.5 billion of travel industry contracts.

Britain & Ireland Marketplace (BIM), London: January 2023
This is a workshop held in January and organised by ETOA (European Tour Operators Association) with up to 32 pre-set appointments. The buyers in attendance will be 
   - those who already sell UK and Ireland and looking for new products to sell
   - based in UK (or at least have offices here) but sell to international markets. 
There will also be outbound operators from Europe and North America. 

ITB, Berlin: 8-12 March 2023
ITB Berlin is one of the world's largest tourism trade fairs, held in March. With approximately 10,000 exhibitors representing every sector of the tourism industry. The exhibition lasts 5 days of which 3 days are for trade visitors only. It attracts over 180,000 visitors. Approximately 25% of the trade visitors come from countries other than Germany (a large part from the emerging Eastern European markets).

British Tourism & Travel Show (BTTS) Birmingham:  22-23 March 2023    
This is the UK’s leading domestic tourism exhibition and brings together up to 300 exhibitors and up to 3000-targeted buyers.
