Bro Cors Caron SMS

Holistically focusing on farmland biodiversity, habitat enhancement, soil and water quality the project will extend the environmental credentials of the NNR into the surrounding landscape, providing healthier, more resilient ecosystems in the process.

Aiming to improve the well-being of the community surrounding the project, enhancing social connections, well-being and the traditional and historical connection between community and land. The collaborative element of this venture is already astounding, with much formal support already achieved within the locality at EOI stage.

  • The project was able to have a display at the SMS stand as a part of the Celebration of Rural Wales Network event held at the Royal Welsh Showground. This provided a good opportunity to showcase the work undertaken as a part of this project (along with the other SMS project ran by the GWCT at Elwy Valley) to wider audience. There was also the chance to engage with other SMS projects.
  • We were also fortunate enough to be visited by Pauline Smith from the Country Focus programme on BBC Radio Wales. This programme involved visiting Cruglas and learning about the conservation measures put in place by Terry Mills on the farm, but also discussed the Bro Cors Caron SMS as a whole also see: https://www.youtube.com/watch
