The Chicken Shack - Community Workspace with Farm Childcare

We are applying to regenerate our redundant poultry houses into a co working space with a cafe and crèche. Our intention is that while establishing this facility we will be able to offer these facilities as a much needed community hub in the centre of the village.

This means that the timber buildings will be converted from large indoor areas to provide the facilities needed for the project. A range of areas would be constructed inside the current large shed to provide a co working space, a community hub and childcare facilities.

This would include food preparation areas and toilets so although there is currently electric, gas and water to the buildings there would need to be improvements made to provide sewage facilities.

This facility will provide much needed space for the community to engage with each other whilst using the facilities that are planned for a coworkers space. We intend to establish a crèche for use by co-workers and the local community. The crèche will use the outdoor environment to provide a more flexible, stimulating and meaningful learning environment.
