The project aims to develop the applicant’s existing small scale post and rails manufacturing and firewood business whilst opening a third avenue of bespoke timber processing and supply business in the form of a fully functioning saw milling enterprise known as Usk Castle Chase Sawmill. The applicant will invest in a specialist sawmilling machine, drying facilities, tree shears and building enabling local woodland which would have otherwise have gone unmanaged to be brought back into active management with timber being processed and sold directly form the Sawmill.
