Awel Aman Tawe have the knowledge and expertise for developing Energy Local at scale and at multiple locations but need a Development Officer, with expertise to support local volunteers to develop renewable energy at a community level.
Crucially, new renewable energy schemes will be facilitated by the ‘Energy Local’ model. We will be aiming to develop two new community energy sites in NPT RDP wards. We can directly measure Carbon saved from the renewables built.
The Energy Local Development Officer will promote sustainable and efficient measures for communities in NPT, through the establishment of Energy Local Clubs. This will enable local people to work together strengthening communities and engendering a sense of belonging.
The need for locally owned renewable energy is paramount in the decentralisation and decarbonisation of the generation network. With locally generated, locally owned renewables, we can also keep electricity prices low and combat fuel poverty.
