The project is to create a new arena that will be similar to the existing all weather arena.
The installation will mean that the David Broome Event Centre will have a greater area of outdoor All Weather Arena than anywhere else in the UK.
The new arena can also be split into 2 competition arenas. For each equestrian discipline, there is a preferred level of moisture in the top layer of sand as that dictates how hard the surface is.
The computer takes account of the weather, so that when it rains the system pumps out water and when the sun is out and there is evaporation, the system automatically pumps in the precise amount of water required to keep the surface consistent.
