This is a 2 year project that will establish and trial innovative digital approaches to encouraging a wide audience in a heritage experience. We will experiment with micro-sites and digital publishing to discover the best means of telling the story of Hay Castle and of capturing community and visitor responses and feedback. We will involve community workshops and youth training in the filming of Hay Memories using digital media. This series of interviews discussing the history of the Castle and the town will be available through social media, on our website and on iPads throughout the site. We will also trial new methods of utilising social media to enhance learning and will mentor volunteers to embrace these platforms in their roles at the Castle. We will aim to increase the use of digital methods by volunteers by using buddy schemes to encourage further social media and open platform use.
