We are seeking funding for:

  1. A freelance project co-ordinator for the three years;
  2. Evaluation costs for three years (to cover MWMT, Glasbury Arts and SPYM elements)
  3. The costs of the instrumental taster sessions delivered in partnership with South Powys Youth Music in years 2 & 3 Year 1 (2017):
  • 3 x day music-making and performance workshops in 3 schools in south and mid Powys during the period January May 2017. A tailored teachers resource pack to support ongoing classroom teaching.
  • An INSET session for teachers which also acts as a profile raising and training activity;
  • The music-making workshops will culminate in high quality interactive performances featuring professional musicians. The workshop participants will perform their new works as part of the show, which will also be open to other local schools (based on previous projects we anticipate reaching approx. 20 in total).
  • Follow on instrumental taster sessions (delivered by and funded through Glasbury Arts)
  • Opportunities to get involved in local world-class music festivals including Brecon Baroque Festival (Autumn) and Hay Chamber Music Festival (Spring) Years 2 & 3 (2018 & 2019)
  • The basic structure will be as above, but using the evaluation of Year 1 we will introduce a new partnership with South Powys Youth Music to offer instrumental taster sessions in 2 additional schools each year as a follow on to the music-making workshops.
  • Evaluation
