Mona Solar Park

To undertake a feasibility study of installing Photo Voltaic Panels at Mona. If a viable model can be developed for the Mona site, it would potentially provide the basis for the development of other similar schemes on Anglesey generating income for locally owned social enterprises, and cheaper electricity for local consumers. The study would need to assess whether the scheme is likely to be economically viable. Options could include identifying potential sources of grant funding (eg WEFO) to pay for electricity storage as part of the scheme as part of an innovative approach. Further studies would also be required to provide more detailed information on ecology and biodiversity. The feasibility study could also look at the alternative option of a social enterprise installing and owning PV of the roofs of the units and setting up an Energy Local Club between itself as the generator and the tenants.
