Open Kitchens

Helfa Fwyd aims to open the kitchens or production areas of cafs, restaurants, dairy producers, etc. to the public through invitation and is based on the successful Helfa Gelf model. The experiences will allow invited guests to see the establishment at work, will showcase the local food offering and help strengthen the local food suppliers list. The project will run throughout 2017 but will focus on specific periods as agreed by the participants, e.g. Hotels and restaurants can hold chefs demonstrations, jam and cake producers can invite guests into their kitchens to watch them baking and dairy producers can demonstrate butter, cheese and ice-cream making. The project costs will include advice and assistance in managing the visitors facilities including health and safety advice, a small allowance for each venue for related costs, marketing of the events, update of the on line local food suppliers list, filming and photography to market the project and diarise the journey.
