Powis Castle Estate has run a firewood business for 20 years. It provides employment for 2 estate forestry staff and a part time delivery driver. All the timber for the business is generated from the Estate’s own woods.
It is proposed to upgrade the estate firewood enterprise firewood processor, forwarding trailer and crane in order to maintain employment for estate forestry staff, ensure the management of the estate broadleaved woods and add value to
the timber harvested from these woods.
