Provision of new cattle building and silage clamp and FYM store

This project involves the construction of new cattle facilities located on a new site at Fferam Uchaf, Llansadwrn.

Project investment will be:

1. Construction of a building, 240’x100’, to provide cattle housing, feeding area and a covered FYM store. Cattle will be loose housed on straw.
2. Rainwater harvesting system to provide water for livestock
3. Construction of a new silage clamp 75’x60’. This will be split into 2 clamps of 30’ width to facilitate better clamp management.
4. Effluent tank to serve the silage clamp
5. Concrete area to link these facilities and create a clean environment.

Overall aim is to achieve a more sustainable system from a combination of improved livestock performance, better stocking rates, improved use of resources and a reduction in overhead costs.
