There is little up to date information on the number of upholstery companies in our region. This manufacturing sector of the furniture industry has had a strong presence in South Wales over many years with a number of large and small companies currently in operation. The value of the UK Upholstery market in 2018 was worth 3.2 billion pounds. Its is a significant manufacturing sector that is increasing year on year and draws on a large volume of materials through various supply chains. This projects aim is to gather information on upholstery companies around Caerphilly and Blaenau Gwent and their use of timber and wool within their products.
