The project aims to maximise the social and economic benefit of the relocation of S4C to Carmarthen in 2018. Canolfan S4C: Yr Egin will involve the creation of a creative exchange/cluster in Carmarthen as a national hub for the creative industries. Specialising in broadcast, moving image and digital (including gaming, applications & computer programming).
In developing Canolfan S4C: Yr Egin the University sees Carmarthen as a gateway to Y Fro Gymraeg, the Welsh speaking heartland and as the centre of innovation within the field of broadcast and digital media. It will enhance opportunities to attract and retain a new generation of local, Welsh speaking innovators and entrepreneurs, who will be comfortable working within a local and global context.
