Veg

Ahead of COP26 this November, and with 2021 the UN’s International Year of Fruit and Vegetables, transitioning UK diets towards more sustainable and healthy dietary patterns is firmly on political and business agendas.

The Peas Please Veg Summit Series will explore the role of veg as a part of this transition, showcasing examples of best practice, considering ways in which policymakers can support the transition, and celebrating all things veg.

Join them this June for a series of events and activities across all four UK nations, hosted by the Peas Please partnership.

There are various Wales-focussed seminars taking place over the next two weeks. They conclude with two sessions as below:

Wales Peas Please Veg Summit

Hosted by Food Sense Wales at 10:30 on Friday the 18th June. The organisers describe their Summit as follows:

“With only ¼ portion of veg grown per person per day in Wales; with a public health and climate and nature emergency, and with significant investment planned for Wales over the next 10-15 years through Growth Deals, City Deals and UK funding mechanisms, Food Sense Wales will be asking a panel of experts, including our Peas Please pledgers, to debate whether horticulture should be part of “the deal”.”

How to shift the dial on demand for Veg?

Hosted by Food Sense Wales at 14:00 on Friday the 18th June:

“Peas Please Veg Advocates will lead a discussion with policy makers and Peas Please pledgers on ideas the Welsh Government could be considering in its forthcoming consultation on the Food Environment.”
