Wild events

'Wild Skills, Wild Spaces' project is funded by through the Sustainable Management Scheme - Welsh Government Rural Communities - Rural Development Programme 2014-2020, which is funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the Welsh Government delivered in Partnership with Montgomeryshire wildlife trust & Powys Teaching Health Board.

Wild Skills Wild Spaces is an Ecotherapy project that will build new and accessible ‘green’ infrastructure, such as trails, bi-lingual interpretation and habitat restoration at Montgomeryshire Wildlife Trust (MWT) nature reserves and other greenspaces, establishing new facilities where people can connect with nature. The project will offer people the opportunity to be involved in environmental activities that connect them with nature in a therapeutic and ‘safe’ setting.

The project aims to embed a different, high quality and effective approach offering sessions at local nature reserves and greenspaces throughout mid Powys where groups of people are involved in bushcraft, habitat management, wildlife walks, mindfulness activities and horticultural tasks.

Sites are across Montgomeryshire, providing opportunities for participants to get hands on with nature, look after their wellbeing and help to improve their local green spaces for people and wildlife alike.

The project has launch events in May to co-inside with Mental Health awareness week and the theme of nature.
