Essential Food Box Scheme in Wales

9 December 2020
In March 2020, the Chief Medical Officer, Dr Frank Atherton wrote to 125,000 clinically vulnerable people requesting them to take shielding measures, including staying at home for 12 weeks. As a result of this advice the Welsh Government explored the provision of food boxes for those people in Wales who had no family or friends for support, or were unable to access online food deliveries due to unprecedented demand.

Cwmfarm Charcuterie picks up business award

Welsh salami producer, Cwmfarm Charcuterie has received a top award in the 2020 National Pig Awards winning the Marketing Initiative of the Year category for social media use to promote their business. These awards recognise and reward excellence, foster innovation and inspire creativity and information sharing. It is the only awards competition exclusive to the British pig industry.
