Mike Evans

I was born in Swansea, south Wales where my career started as an apprentice electrician to a local electrical contracting company. During the next 27 years in the electrical contracting industry this company gave me the opportunity to develop my career from an apprentice electrician to engineering manager in Birmingham West Midlands, International Director overseas returning to the UK as general manager based in Cardiff.

In 1992 my career changed direction where my role was a regional manager for an international company in the process control and automation industry. A major part of my role was a business development manager with responsibility for Quality Assurance.

My career to date has developed my skills as an engineering manager, quantity surveyor, international director in all appointments, managing teams of people to successfully contribute to a company’s success and my personal development.

Working in the electrical contracting industry throughout the late 70s and 80, when building services were at their peak, managing profit and loss programmes quality was and still is a key skill to meet with business targets and investing in people’s skills.

Whilst moving around the UK and overseas my family played an important role in supporting me to achieve my career goal of striving to make the best for us all and the company I worked for.

Experiencing different people’s cultures from south Wales to the Midlands and working overseas provided me with a new challenge to develop my assessor skills to encourage people to take ownership and to succeed.

My role today is to seek new opportunities and develop quality processes for Welsh companies from my home in Swansea.

Throughout my career and in my family life if you do your best to communicate well, you will achieve respect. My professional qualifications and life experiences are all about encouraging people to achieve their goals.
