The company identified an opportunity to combine the theatre of authentic coffee making with the sensory experience of coffee roasting.
The aim is to create a centre of excellence for roasting, brewing and servicing coffee in Ammanford capitalising on the growth in speciality coffee across the UK and ‘coffee tourism’.
The proposal includes a Roastery, Coffee Bar, and training academy. The proposed coffee bar is an 80 cover café where visitors can enjoy a selection of single origin espressos or drip filter coffees while watching the daily roastery routines take place and supported by a small café that will a sell a selection of their own baked artisan goods e.g. breads, pastries etc.
They will also offer public demonstrations and insights into baking. Space within the facility will be used for training, bookable experience days and home barista courses, as well as being an accredited suite for ‘specialty coffee examinations’ and ‘tasting sessions’.
This dedicated space will also be available for hire for various activities and events, for example for use as a ‘pop up’ cinema, a meeting space etc.
